PlaNet Finance in the Arab World
As part of its long-term mission to support the development of microfinance in the world, PlaNet Finance, with the support of its partners, has developed a 5-year program for The Arab World in 2005.
The Program aims at creating a momentum in favor of the microfinance sector in the region. To implement this program, PlaNet Finance capitalizes on its international experience, mobilizes its network – in particular PlaNet Finance Morocco and PlaNet Finance UAE - and takes on concrete and effective action
Microfinance in the Arab World today touches approximately 1 million people in more than 10 countries. Although often still young, many Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in The Arab World have experienced rapid and dynamic growth in the last 3 to 5 years.
Nevertheless, 5 million potential microentrepreneurs remain untouched in the region.
Providing technical support, rating and funding to the microfinance sector in THE ARAB WORLD could largely help to meet the needs of those microentrepreneurs as well as to foster the sustainability and the impact of the sector.
